Candle Care & Safety Instructions

Candles should always be used carefully and responsibly. By purchasing or using Misty Flames products, customers agree to follow the safety instructions mentioned below.

1. General Candle Safety

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended
  • Keep candles away from children and pets
  • Keep away from curtains, fabrics, paper, furniture, or flammable items
  • Place candles on stable, heat-resistant surfaces only
  • Avoid placing candles near fans, windows, or strong airflow
  • Do not move candles while burning or while wax is hot
  • Never sleep with a candle burning

2. Burn Duration

Do not burn candles continuously for more than 3–4 hours at a time.

Excessive burning may lead to:

  • Overheating
  • Uneven burning
  • Smoke or soot
  • Container stress

3. First Burn Instructions

During the first burn, allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface before extinguishing the candle.

This helps reduce tunneling and supports even burning in future uses.

4. Wick Care

Trim the wick to approximately 5 mm before every burn.

Long wicks may cause:

  • High flames
  • Excess smoke
  • Uneven burning
  • Overheating

5. Hot Surface Warning

Candle jars, lids, melted wax, and containers may become hot during or after use. Please avoid touching hot wax or hot containers directly.

6. Wax Level Warning

Stop using the candle when only a small amount of wax remains at the bottom of the container to avoid overheating or possible container damage.

7. Container Safety

Do not use candles in cracked, damaged, or unstable containers.

Allow containers to cool completely before touching or moving them.

8. Wax Melts & Sachets

Wax melts and sachets must only be used as intended.

  • Use wax melts only with suitable warmers
  • Do not add water to wax melts
  • Do not overheat wax melts
  • Keep sachets away from direct sunlight or heat
  • Do not burn wax sachets like candles

Misty Flames shall not be held responsible for any damage, injury, accidents, burns, fire hazards, or loss caused due to improper handling, misuse, unsafe burning practices, or failure to follow candle care and safety instructions.
